Happy To Stay - Euan East

With the team back in training, we have been catching up with some new and familiar faces. Amongst those who signed for next season over the last couple of days is Euan East who extended his stay with the club for another year.

The 20-year-old said “Obviously I know Sandy and the Gaffer and I know some of the boys as well so I’m happy to come back. I really enjoyed my time at the club last season and got on really well with everyone, in fact it is probably one of the best teams I’ve been a part of to be honest. Even although we didn’t start off well, I think you could see from the second half of the season that we played better as a team and were one of the most inform teams. It was an easy decision for me to re-sign, I was keen to stay full time and I really enjoyed it so it was just about getting it done and I’m happy to be back”.

“The Championship is a good league to be playing in, hopefully we can start better than last year and push on and have a really good season. There are still a few of the boys who were a big part of the squad last year here but I’m sure we will add to that by bringing in good players and kick on and be in the top half”.

The forward has tried to relax during the close season but at the same time hasn’t wasted the break “it’s only a few weeks until we play our first game so there isn’t long to go, when we came back it was mostly testing the first day but it is good to be back. During the break, I did a lot of gym work and swimming just different stuff to keep fit and to get ready”.

The former Albion Rovers striker missed having the fans for his first season at Palmerston “One of the down sides was that there were no fans but there have been some games that supporters have been allowed in and hopefully we will get some fans back soon”.
