Match Preview v Kilmarnock (A)

We are back on the road tomorrow as we head to Kilmarnock for our third game in the space of a week in the cinch Championship.  Relegated last season, the hosts were the visitors for our first home league game of the season. We looked well on course to take a point that day back in August until Jason Naismith scored in the 91st minute to clinch the victory for the Ayrshire side.

It was another late goal that earned them three points in mid-week, Oli Shaw scoring in the 89th minute to earn them the bragging rights in the derby against Ayr.  The win sees them sit top of the table on goal-difference from Inverness CT with 23 points from their 11 games.  As they were winning at Somerset we went down by the same score-line at Hamilton and dropped to 8th in the table.

Manager Allan Johnston is looking for a better performance as he returns to Rugby Park “We never passed the ball well enough against Accies and were second best all over the park.  The goal came from wrong decision making, it was one through pass.  At times we were being dominated, we have been creating chances, but we haven’t been taking them it was a really poor performance and we need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.  We are miles better than that.

Kilmarnock have the strongest squad and should run away with the league, but we will go there and be positive and try to get something from the game; we know it will be tough as they will come out all guns blazing being at home but we have to make sure it is an improved performance”.

Queens will be without forward Innes Cameron for the game as he can’t play against his parent club.
