Match Preview v Raith Rovers (1/2/22)

The first team are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Kirkcaldy to face Raith Rovers in a rearranged cinch Championship fixture.  The original match should’ve been played in December but was postponed due to Covid.

On our last visit to Starks Park in September, we picked up all three points when Lee Connelly scored the only goal of the game after 12 minutes.  While, in the last meeting of the two sides, we shared the points at Palmerston in November as the game ended in a one all draw.  Max Johnston scored his first professional goal early in the second half, but it was cancelled out by Aidan Connelly twenty minutes from time.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Manager Allan Johnston said “We are all still frustrated with Saturday’s game against Dunfermline.  We were nowhere good enough in the first half and gave ourselves a mountain to climb.  We were much better in the second half and become more of a threat but couldn’t find the finishing touch to the chances we created.  We have a chance to put it right against Raith.  They are challenging at the top end of the table, but we need to look after ourselves and start winning games.  We need to be better at both ends of the park and give a performance that can get us up the table”.
