Kilmarnock Friendly

The new look QoS squad took a break from pre-season fitness work this afternoon to play Kilmarnock in a closed door friendly at Rugby Park. The game was largely so both sides could get some minutes playing an actual game of football before Kilmarnock head abroad for a pre-season camp and we step work up next week and head to Raith for the first open door friendly next midweek.

Manager Wullie Gibson described the game, which finished 1-0 to Kilmarnock, as, "a good exercise. The boys did well and I was happy with our progress. Ultimately we've lost to an absolute worldy from Fraser Murray but it's not about scores at this stage, it's about challenging ourselves against a good full time side who won the Championship last season. Other than Kyle Lafferty and Chris Stokes it looked fairly close to a full strength Killie side and our lads competed well with them."

Queens lined up as (subs in brackets):
Max Currie (Charlie Cowie), Ryan Muir, David McKay, Stuart Morrison, Rico Quitongo, Kieran McKechnie (Lewis Gibson), Dom McMahon (Ben Johnstone), Calvin McGrory (Harry Cochrane), A Trialist (Connor Murray), Gavin Reilly (Michael Ruth) & Ruari Paton
