Match Preview v Falkirk (H) - 29th Oct

Our league one fixtures continue tomorrow when we host Falkirk at Palmerston.

After our last performance against The Bairns, Manager Wullie Gibson is looking for a better performance. Our away game at the end of August ended in a 3 – 1 victory for John McGlynn’s side. Callum Morrison and Juan Alegria had the hosts two up within half an hour. Ruari Paton pulled one back from the penalty spot just after the hour mark, but Ola Lawal scored to put the game beyond doubt.

Looking ahead to the return fixture, the Boss said “Last week was a big three points for us. It may not have been a game of quality, but we did what we had to do and ground out the result to make it back-to-back wins in the league.

As I said in my post-match interview, we had to change things around last minute so credit to the boys who started and those who came on, I thought the subs made an impact against Clyde and shows that we have a good squad.

Recent results have seen us move up the table, obviously we would prefer to be higher, but we are moving in the right direction.

This week we face Falkirk. We didn’t perform the way we can against them the last time round so like last week we have a few wrongs to put right. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going, put on a better performance and pick up another three points and keep climbing the table.

Thanks again for your support”.

Car parking will be available to all spectators within the Queen of the South Arena car park. It is suggested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry’s/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location as drop off. Supporters’ buses including minibuses will not be allowed to park in the Arena car park.

As far as we are aware there are no ongoing roadworks currently around Dumfries that may affect travel times to Palmerston Park. Fans should check the Traffic Scotland website at http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx for confirmation of any delays.

The catering outlets within the supporter’s areas of the ground will also be open for use. And the bar under the Alpha Solway stand will be open to both sets of supporters’ pre-match.

QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland which may result in a custodial sentence. Not only is it against the law, but it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue, this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.

Supporters should note that due to a UEFA ruling we are no longer providing a stream of matches this season.

The club shop located in the Arena will be open until kick off where you can purchase our club merchandise. Including half-time draw tickets and match day programmes.

The Community Fridge team continue to look for donations of food, toiletries, cleaning products and books. Any donations can be handed in at the Arena or the Press Office tomorrow or into the office during the week. Collection buckets will also be available at the ticket offices and within the shop tomorrow for anyone wishing to make cash donations for the volunteers to purchase goods for the Hub to help people within the Community.

Tomorrow’s match kicks off at 3 pm. Prior to kick off the team will be showing their support for the Show Racism the Red Card campaign.
