Match Preview v Dunfermline (A) - 3rd Dec 2022

We are back on the road again tomorrow when we make the trip to face Dunfermline in league one.

After the first 16 games, having only lost once in the league all season, the hosts sit seven points clear at the top of the table on 35 points, and hold a 13-point advantage on us. They’re currently unbeaten at home this league campaign.

In our last meeting back in September, they left Palmerston with all three points after first half goals from former Queens duo, Nikolay Todorov and Rhys Breen gave them a 2-0 victory.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Queens boss Wullie Gibson said “We go into the game on the back of our Scottish Cup tie against Morton. Although we failed to progress in the competition and didn’t get the cup run that we were looking for, I was pleased with the performance against a tough Championship side. I thought we matched Morton for long spells of the game at Cappielow and the two late goals flattered them. As I said at the time, the one criticism I had, was the manner that we lost some of the goals, especially the last one. That was a reminder to the players that even when things are going against you, you need to keep going until the end.

This week we have another difficult away game against a side who have made a great start to the season and are sitting at the top of the table on merit. We didn’t do ourselves justice the last time we played them as we never got going and never got to grips with the game. So, we have something to prove. We know it will be a challenge, but we will go into the game with a positive mindset and aim to pick up a win and end their unbeaten home run”.
