Match Preview v Alloa (A) - 9th Dec 22

We are back on the road again tomorrow (Friday) for the third game in a row when we head to Alloa in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

The cup tie will be our third meeting of the season, back in October when we faced each other at Palmerston, Ross MacIver snatched a point for the visitors with a late goal. It was a game that we had dominated with Gavin Reilly giving us a deserved lead but, in the end, we had to settle for a one all draw. The game at the Indodrill Stadium last month, turned out to be a disappointing. After playing well for an hour, we crumbled and conceded three goals in the space of five minutes during the second half and ended up on the end of a heavy 5 – 1 defeat.

Looking ahead to the cup tie, Manager, Wullie Gibson said “The last time we played Alloa, we folded and have a few things to put right. There’s been plenty said about the game already, so I don’t want to dwell on it. In recent weeks our performance levels have been good, so I would rather focus on the positives from them.

We have taken four points from six in our last two league games so I would have preferred that we had a league game this week to try to get a bit of a run going there, but it is a cup tie and like every cup game, it is one we want to win. So again, we will go with a positive mindset and look to make it through to the next round”.
