Match Preview v Hamilton (A) - 7th Feb 2023

We are back on the road again tomorrow as we head to Hamilton in the last four of the SPFL Trust Trophy.

Having reached the final last season, it would be great to do it again, but we are up against a side that we failed to get the better of at all in the Championship last campaign. Going down 2-1 and 3-0 at home and losing 1-0 both times we visited New Douglas Park. Andy Winter scoring the only goal of the game on our last visit in March last year.

We go into the game off back-to-back wins in the league so we will be looking to maintain the momentum. Although Jaze Kabia, Jack Brydon and Cammy Logan are all unavailable for selection for this one.

Looking ahead to the game, Manager Marvin Bartley said “It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone at the club. It’s not often you get to play in the latter stages of competitions so we will give it everything to try to reach the final. We will be the underdogs with Hamilton being the league above but hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves.

We will have to freshen up the side as we have three players that are cup tied. Also, the boys have been playing at a high tempo in recent weeks so that has taken a lot of them, and we will probably need to put some fresh legs in there, but its up to the players who are given the chance to stake a claim”.
