On Armistice Day we take on Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium for our latest league one fixture.
In the first round of fixtures the hosts claimed the three points at Palmerston in August with a 4-3 victory. Kieran McKechnie gave us an early lead scoring after just two minutes, but Alloa raced into a lead through Dave McKay, Bradley Rodden and Conor Sammon. Gavin Reilly pulled one back from the penalty spot, but Rodden scored his second to give the visitors a 4-2 lead at the interval. Reilly scored again from the penalty spot in the second half to round of the scoring.
Our last visit to Clackmannanshire was in April when Ruari Paton’s double helped us to a 2 -1 win.
The hosts who lost manager Brian Rice to Livingston on Thursday currently sit 6th in the table on 14 points, a point better off then ourselves.
Looking ahead to the fixture, boss Marvin Bartley said “The boys put in a shift last week and were rewarded with a draw against the league leaders. It was an excellent performance and a worthy point. That level of work, endeavour and resilience is the minimum we expect, it gives us something to build on and we need to at least match it in every game. We’ve had a rough patch but if we keep digging in and working hard then I’m confident we will be all right come the end of the season.
Tomorrow, we head to Alloa looking for those three points that will move us up the table. But there are no easy games in this league, and it would be disrespectful to think otherwise.”
