Charlie Cowie Extends Contract

Charlie Cowie extends his stay with the club for a further year. Charlie joined the club as a youth in the summer of 2015. Charlie, has shown great promise in his time at the club, with a heroic debut away to Raith Rovers which showed the young stopper in a fantastic light. A loan move resulting in a league title with Glartcairn really allowed Charlie to progress. Unfortunately last season was a long injury hit season, but we are very hopefully Charlie can get back to previous successes and continue to grow and develop with the club.

We are delighted to extend Charlie’s stay at Queen of the South. Charlie has expressed his desire to be with us straightaway and had no hesitation in committing his future with us. At present Charlie is recovering from an injury that will keep him out until August/September but we are excited about the development prospect Charlie possesses. A local boy with a great stature for a goalkeeper and with our new goalkeeping coach in place he can only get better.

It was a no brainer as soon as I had spoken to the Manager, I love this football club and being a life long fan only makes me want to progress and succeed for this fantastic club. Obviously last season was a tough one with injury, however I am looking forward to getting back on the pitch and working to repay the faith the club has given me.
