Gibbo Moves On

We can confirm that Lewis Gibson has today signed for William Hill Championship side, Raith Rovers. As a club, we have been in dialogue with Lewis with a view to extending his stay at Palmerston for many months and offered him improved terms this summer, which were further improved again in discussion with his agent. However the lure of Championship football, testing himself at a higher level and a new challenge has determined Lewis’ decision.

Lewis joined the club as an eleven year old academy player and has developed into a fine young man, on and off the field. He has made 61 first team appearances scoring 6 goals while contributing many assists along the way. As a player ‘Gibbo’ represented the club exceptionally in all forms from his community involvement, to playing with the u13s, u15s, u18s, reserves and first team, a player with great talent and potential. We would like to place on record our thanks to Lewis and wish him every success in his future career.

Queen of the South will be entitled to a compensation fee in respect of Lewis and this matter will be resolved with Raith Rovers in due course.
