Youth Update

The youths are now well underway in their CAS league campaigns as well as their CAS group stages.

The u16’s who joined the club in the summer have all made a smooth transition into club life. After a long pre-season, the players are starting to find their feet in the league, under the guidance of Neil Murray and Ross Newlands and yesterday picked up a 3-2 victory away to Edinburgh City. This the young team’s 3rd game following games against Alloa and Elgin so far this season. Up next the u16’s face Airdrie which always has the making of a great game and this is at Palmerston Park on Sunday.

The under 18’s have started the season well with positive performances against Morton at Palmerston as well as a fine win against Livingston in the CAS Cup. The league form has also been promising winning one and drawing the other. The promising aspect is several of the under 18s have also played minutes with the reserves in the opening fixtures of that campaign. The Under 18’s have been drawn away to Montrose in the Scottish Youth Cup as we embark on the illustrious competition for the coming season.

Reserves, the reserves have started the campaign this month, with tough games one away to Kilmarnock, who displayed their premier league quality, as well as a home game vs Dundee which resulted in a draw. The step up for young players in the reserves is a great challenge and allows our youngsters to realise the next level within their journey to playing for the first team.

The reserves play this Wednesday at Palmerston vs Airdrie with a 2pm Kick off.
