As the league got underway the U19 side opened their fixtures with a trip to Bonnyrigg Rose.
Both teams looked nervous in the first ten minutes but Queens started showing confidence in possession and looked
for the opening goal. Billy Gray,Josh Kelly and Matt Hall all had good chances but they had to wait until five minutes before the interval to break the deadlock. Some decent play from the trialist saw him deliver into the box for Gray and the youngster got across his marker to head into the bottom corner.
Half Time: Bonnyrigg Rose 0 Queens 1
Queens made a quick start to the second half and with their tails up, two minutes after the restart, the ball was played out wide to Kylan Hunter who beat two players to fire a powerful shot into the top corner from 20-yards.
The boys were on top and looked fitter than their hosts and eight minutes later Hall linked well with Kelly to play in Gray who ran 40-yards holding off his markers to slot the ball under the keeper for his second and Queens third of the night.
The home side pulled one back five minutes from time to round off the scoring.
