While the first team were picking up a valuable victory away at Hamilton in league one, the youth team were knocked out of this year’s Scottish Youth Cup.
After a brilliant second round win over Auchinleck Talbot, the youngsters travelled to Lochinch Sports Pavillion in Glasgow to take on Queens Park in their third-round tie where they went down by two goals to nil.
Coach Eddie Warwick said “We are feeling frustrated having conceded a penalty right on half time, but we were up against a very good Queens Park team and we created chances. We had at least four good ones in the second half, so although we lost there are plenty of positives that we can take from the performance. The boys worked extremely hard and we were pleased with the contribution of the four under 17s who played for the last 20 minutes and did well.”
