Tomorrow, we head to Alloa for our final scheduled game of the league one campaign.
The hosts currently sit third in the division, with a two-point advantage over ourselves so we know that a win at the Indodrill would see us leapfrog our hosts going into the play-offs next week when we would face either Inverness or Stenhousemuir who will finish second. Anything else will see us take on whoever occupies 9th place in the Championship after tonight’s matches.
In the three games so far, Mikey Hewitt scored the only goal of the game at Palmerston in October, while on our last visit to Clackmannanshire, goals from Kurtis Guthrie and Liam Smith earned us another three points but in our game at Palmerston in February it was Andy Graham’s men that claimed the win as Kurtis Roberts scored late on after Reece Lyon had cancelled out Luke Donnelly’s opener.
Ahead of the game manager Peter Murphy said “With third place to play for and the league one top four placings to be decided on the final day of the scheduled season, it’s going to be an exciting afternoon. We weren’t happy with the first half performance against Montrose last week but the boys did well after the break and we managed to get the point to make tomorrow’s game meaningful. We want to finish as high in the table as possible and have the momentum going into the play-off matches.”
