As we return for pre-season training and manager, Nicky Clark builds his squad for the new campaign we are delighted to welcome Trevor Carson to the club.

The 38-year-old goalkeeper who has been capped eight times for Northern Ireland brings a vast amount of experience to the squad also becomes part of the coaching team as he takes on the role of goal-keeping coach.

Trevor left his home land when he joined Sunderland in 2004. After a decade in England, he crossed the border to Motherwell. Four seasons at Fir Park was followed by a spell at Dundee United before the keeper joined St Mirren making 37 appearances for the Saints during his twelve months there. It was then back to Tayside for three years with Dundee during which time he went out on loan to Ross County.

Following the signing, The Gaffer said “Having been with Trevor at County, he is someone I know well and I’m pleased to have been able to bring him in as part of the squad. He is an excellent goalkeeper with a wealth of experience so it’s great to have him for such a fundamental position within the team and coaching staff.”

Carson added “I’m delighted to join the club and I’m looking forward to getting started. It’s a great opportunity for me to continue playing at a good level whilst having the chance to coach. It is going to be a tough league this year with the teams that are in it but we will be up for the challenge.”
